Possibly a little help from above!

This past Saturday we were honored to be chosen as the photographers for Courtney & Eli’s Wedding, held in Dallas, PA.  Courtney found us on The Knot and booked us based on our on-line images and reviews on The Knot, Wedding Wire, Facebook and Goggle.  We were able to finally meet them about 2 months ago when we did their Engagement Session in the Allentown Rose Garden.  Courtney got ready at a friend’s home that was near to the Wedding site, which was the grounds of Eli’s Family home.  Now the weather has been crazy rainy as has been the case the entire week prior to their Wedding, even the weather forecast for the day look pretty bad.  On our drive up to Dallas from Allentown, it not only rained but poured, however, by the time we reached the Bride the rain had stopped and even held off the rest of the day. When we arrived at the Wedding site we found that there was little option for a backup plan if it had rained. The Ceremony was set up into the wooded area above the house and reception tent and the dance floor was on the slate sub-flooring that used to house the family above ground pool.  I have to say the overcast lighting was perfect Wedding Photography weather and just was the Bride and Groom kissed at the end of the ceremony, the sun came out for about 30 seconds, shining through the trees right on the two of them and that’s all there was the rest of the day.  Now the reason for the title of this blog – the Bride’s Mother had passed away when she was young.  Courtney had added a photo locket to her Bridal flowers in remembrance and we feel strongly that Mom was involved with not only the weather but that little splash of sunlight for the two of them.  Family members were in charge of food and it was a great spread.  DJ Matt from Breakaway and Ride DJ’s, (www.breakawayandride@gmail.com),  provided a really great mix of sounds that got everyone up and dancing until the very end.  Based on the weather forecast we never expected this Wedding to be the success it was and we are both so happy for Courtney & Eli as they begin their married life together
