A Mormon Tradition

A Mormon Tradition

This past Saturday we had the honor to capture some of the Wedding Day of Mikelle & Lein who were married at the LDS Temple in Philadelphia.

We had been contacted by the Bride's Mother about photographing the event after a recommendation from the Reception venue “Blue” – the way we book most of our events!  Mikelle & Lein are students at BYU but were getting married here in PA.  We had photographed another Mormon Wedding years ago at the Temple near Washington DC.  As we are not to take any photographs during the ceremony, we waited until the couple and their families exited the Temple and we did outdoor formal and casual photographs and then off to the reception.  The same was planned for this wedding but traffic, accidents and high winds limited much of our time on the Temple grounds although we were pleased with what we could accomplish.

Then it was off to Bethlehem and “Blue”, (www.eventcenteratblue.com)  for their luncheon & reception.  More traffic…… but once we arrived Carolyn and her staff pulled everything together, as always, and provided an amazing meal and party for this lovely couple and their families and friends.

Prior to the Wedding I became Facebook friends with Mikelle, so that we could do a sneak peek of some of her photos later that evening, and I saw one of her posts that struck me – she said that in the Mormon tradition when a couple marries they do so forever, not just until death do us part.  Linda and I found that very touching.

We wish them all the very best in this life and the next!
