I late February, we were contacted by one of the TOP Wedding Planners/Designers in and around the Lehigh Valley, Linda Nabb of Dream Events, (www.dreameventsonline.com) about an event she was planning for a couple, Sunnie & Larry, to renew their Wedding Vows, in celebration of their 22nd Wedding Anniversary. The event was to be held at the historic Burnside Plantation, (https://historicbethlehem.org/?historic-site=burnside-plantation).The renewal was to be Saturday, October 5th and sounded like something that we would love to be part of. We hadn’t visited the plantation before, so it was a treat to see the multiple barns, out buildings, gardens, etc. When you meet Sunnie & Larry, you instantly fall in love with them, just a lovely, down to earth couple, obviously so in LOVE after 22 years. Their love story is complicated being of mixed races, over two generations ago, but true love does preserver!Sunnie shared she wanted to go with a “Gone with The Wind” theme, hoop Gown and country farm theme. It turned out awesome.Kevin Ramaley, (www.rockinramaley.com) and his team provided the entertainment with DJ Matt & MC Paul, Photo Booth with Brittney and provided up-lighting as amazing use of overhead Edison type lightbulbs. All of the venue and coupes floral displays were created by Ross Plants and Flowers, (www.rossplantsandflowers.com) and couldn’t have been more perfect, just stunning designs and arrangements to create the perfect atmosphere. The catering was provided by Simply Smooth Catering, (https://simplysmooth.com/) who provided an amazing country style buffet, with every item better tasting than the one before it. The couples cake was provided by Custom Cakes by Adele, (www.customcakesbyadele.com) and although I didn’t get a chance to have a piece, it look yummy! Also, Jennifer Gross, of the Burnside Plantation was just so attentive to all the need of the vendors and of course the couple, making it a great venue to be involved with. So, all the above was orchestrated by Linda at Dream Events and went off perfectly because of her expertise and attention to details! But despite all the above, what knocked this event out of the ballpark was Sunnie & Larry. We have done over 2600 Wedding and the exchange of the vows they write for each other, brought me, The Marine, to tears. Their smiles, laughter, visible affection for each other and all those around them, is want LOVE and MARRIAGE is all about! Being married a few more years than Sunnie & Larry, it was a great renewal for me and many of us, to slow down, smell the roses and remember why we said our “I Do’s” no matter how many years ago!Absolutely, lover being part of this very Special Day!
